Characteristics of a lazy man

        Laziness, or slothfulness, is a recurring theme in the Bible, especially in the wisdom literature. It is viewed not merely as a personality flaw but as a spiritual deficiency that brings about moral, economic, and social decay. The Bible vividly describes the character and consequences of laziness, offering divine wisdom to those who desire to walk in diligence, integrity, and fruitfulness. 1. He Loves Excessive Sleep

        The most immediate and visible trait of a lazy man is his affection for rest and sleep. While sleep is necessary and ordained by God for rest and renewal, excessive sleep becomes a symptom of slothfulness.

● Proverbs 6:9–11 (KJV):

    "How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man."

        The lazy man finds comfort in sleep and avoids rising to face responsibilities. His love for comfort overshadows his need for diligence and productivity. Scripture warns that such behavior leads to poverty and lack, like a thief arriving unexpectedly.

6. He Desires Much but Gains Nothing

        There is a paradox in the lazy man—he has strong desires, even cravings, but he never realizes them because he refuses to work toward them. His dreams are lofty, but his hands are idle.

    "The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat."
