Here are key Scriptures you can meditate on and pray with to ask God to open your spiritual eyes:
1. 2 Kings 6:17 (KJV)
"And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."
This verse shows that there is more going on in the spiritual realm than we can physically see. Elisha prayed for his servant’s spiritual eyes to be opened, and suddenly he saw God’s protection.
2. Psalm 119:18 (KJV)
"Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law."
This is a prayer asking God to give insight and revelation from His Word, not just head knowledge, but spiritual understanding.
3. Ephesians 1:17-18 (KJV)
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened..."
Paul prayed that believers would have their hearts and understanding opened to fully know God’s truth and calling.
4. Luke 24:31 (KJV)
"And their eyes were opened, and they knew him;; andhe vanished out of their sight."
After Jesus’ resurrection, the disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Him until their spiritual eyes were opened. This shows how God can reveal Jesus in a deeper way
5. Revelation 3:18 (KJV)
"...anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see."
This is Jesus' message to the Laodicean church. Though they thought they were spiritually fine, they were blind. He offers spiritual "eyesalve" to heal and open their vision.
6. Isaiah 42:7 (KJV)
"To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison..."
Part of the mission of the Messiah is to open spiritual eyes and deliver people from darkness.
7. 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God... because they are spiritually discerned."
Spiritual truth requires spiritual perception. This verse reminds us that we need God's Spirit to see what cannot be understood naturally.
To have your spiritual eyes opened, you must:
● Walk closely with God
● Read and meditate on the Word with prayer
● Stay filled with the Holy Spirit
● Be humble and teachable
