1. The Lord’s Prayer – Matthew 6:9–13
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name…”
Jesus gave this as a model for how we ought to pray. It emphasizes reverence, submission to God’s will, daily dependence, forgiveness, and spiritual warfare. Its structure makes it timeless and universally applicable.
2. Hannah’s Prayer of Thanksgiving – 1 Samuel 2:1–10
“My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high…”
After God granted her a son, Hannah offered this poetic praise. She rejoices in God’s justice, strength, and sovereignty. Her prayer reveals trust in a God who lifts the lowly and humbles the proud.
3. Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication – 1 Kings 8:22–53
“O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like You…”
At the dedication of the temple, Solomon offers a majestic and heartfelt prayer. He acknowledges God’s faithfulness, asks for forgiveness when Israel sins, and pleads for God’s presence among His people. It’s one of the Bible’s longest public prayers.
4. Jabez’s Prayer – 1 Chronicles 4:10

A brief but bold prayer tucked within genealogies, Jabez asked God for blessing, influence, protection, and freedom from pain. The Bible says, “God granted his request,” showing how sincere faith moves heaven.
5. Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer – John 17
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son…”
On the eve of His crucifixion, Jesus prays for Himself, His disciples, and all future believers. He asks for unity, sanctification, and protection. This intimate prayer shows Christ’s love and eternal perspective.
6. David’s Prayer of Repentance – Psalm 51
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love…”
