Pursue holiness Scripture

    Holiness means being set apart for God’s purpose and living in alignment with His character. It involves moral purity, spiritual devotion, and obedience to God. Holiness is not only about separation from sin but also dedication to God.

  Leviticus 20:7 – “Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.”

God’s Call to Pursue Holiness

     Holiness is not optional for a believer; it is a command and a lifestyle that reflects God’s nature.

  Hebrews 12:14 – “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”

● Holiness is necessary for fellowship with God.

     God is holy, and His children must bear His likeness.

     We cannot achieve holiness by human effort alone; it is through Christ’s sacrifice and the work of the Holy Spirit.

     The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live a holy life.

  Galatians 5:16 – “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

● Without Him, holiness is impossible.

Practical Ways to Pursue Holiness

● Daily study and meditation on Scripture (Psalm 119:9,11).

● Consistent prayer life (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

● Separation from worldly corruption (Romans 12:2).

● Fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:24–25).

● Repentance and humility (1 John 1:9).

The Eternal Perspective of Holiness

     Pursuing holiness is not just for earthly living but for eternal destiny.

  2 Peter 3:11 – “Since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness.”

     Holiness prepares us for Christ’s return and the life to come.

     To pursue holiness means to actively set ourselves apart for God through Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, walking in purity, and reflecting God’s nature. It is a lifelong journey of growth that prepares us for eternity.
