10 importance of prayer

40 prayer points that move mountain

Life brings mountains—financial struggles, health battles, family issues, delays, or spiritual opposition. But the Word of God reminds us that no mountain is too big for Him. Jesus said:

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

Throughout Scripture, we see men and women who faced mountains—literal and figurative—and overcame them by faith in God. Their stories remind us that prayer is not just words; it is divine power that changes the impossible.

Below are 40 prayer points, grouped with biblical examples, to strengthen your faith and move the mountains in your life.

1. Prayers of Faith and Authority

Faith speaks boldly to mountains. When David faced Goliath, he didn’t tremble—he declared, “You come against me with sword and spear, but I come against you in the name of the Lord” (1 Samuel 17:45). That was faith in action.

1. Lord, increase my faith to face mountains like David faced Goliath (Luke 17:5–6).

2. By faith, I command every mountain of fear to give way in the name of Jesus (Mark 11:23).

3. Father, align my prayers with Your will so I do not ask amiss (1 John 5:14–15).

4. Lord, as the walls of Jericho fell, let every obstacle crumble before me (Joshua 6:20).

5. Like Caleb, I declare: “Give me this mountain!” (Joshua 14:12).

2. Prayers Against Obstacles and Strongholds

When the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, it looked like a mountain of impossibility. But God told Moses, “Lift up your staff… divide the sea” (Exodus 14:16). The sea obeyed. Mountains respond when God’s authority is released.

6. Mountain of generational curses, be uprooted in Jesus’ name (Galatians 3:13).

7. I pull down every stronghold of doubt and unbelief (2 Corinthians 10:4–5).

8. O Lord, make every crooked path straight before me as You did for Israel (Isaiah 45:2).

9. By the blood of Jesus, I cancel every evil decree against my life (Colossians 2:14).

10. Lord, silence every voice of accusation, as You silenced the accusers of the woman caught in sin (Isaiah 54:17, John 8:10–11).

3. Prayers for Breakthrough and Open Doors

When Peter was imprisoned, the church prayed earnestly, and the prison doors opened (Acts 12:5–10). Prayer shakes the foundations of closed doors.

11. Father, let every mountain of delay blocking my breakthroughs be removed (Habakkuk 2:3).

12. O Lord, part every Red Sea of impossibility before me (Exodus 14:21–22).

13. Mountain of financial hardship, give way to abundance like You fed Elijah with ravens (Philippians 4:19, 1 Kings 17:6).

14. Every wall of Jericho standing before me, collapse now (Joshua 6:20).

15. Lord, release divine helpers as You sent Jonathan to strengthen David (Isaiah 41:10, 1 Samuel 23:16).

4. Prayers for Healing and Deliverance

Jesus healed the blind, cleansed lepers, and raised the dead. Every sickness was a mountain that bowed before His power.

16. Mountain of sickness, melt away like wax in the presence of the Lord (Psalm 97:5).

17. Lord, restore my health as You restored Hezekiah’s years (Jeremiah 30:17, Isaiah 38:5).

18. I speak life into every dry bone situation like Ezekiel in the valley (Ezekiel 37:4–6).

19. Lord Jesus, rebuke the storm as You calmed the sea (Mark 4:39).

20. Every chain of bondage, break as Paul and Silas were freed in prison (Isaiah 61:1, Acts 16:25–26).

5. Prayers for Victory and Dominion

Joshua faced many enemies, but each mountain of opposition fell because the Lord fought for Israel.

21. Lord, make me the head and not the tail, above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13).

22. I overcome temptation like Jesus did in the wilderness by declaring the Word (Matthew 4:4).

23. Father, strengthen me to persist in prayer like the widow before the judge (Luke 18:1).

24. Lord, fill me with boldness to face mountains as David faced Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45).

25. Every mountain resisting my calling, give way as the Jordan parted for Joshua (Isaiah 40:4, Joshua 3:16).

6. Prayers for Transformation and Renewal

On Mount Sinai, Moses was transformed by God’s glory (Exodus 34:29–30). Mountains can be places of divine encounter, not just barriers.

26. Lord, renew my mind to see mountains as places of encounter (Romans 12:2).

27. Father, turn every test into a testimony as You did for Joseph (Psalm 30:11, Genesis 50:20).

28. Lord, transform my weakness into strength like You did for Gideon (2 Corinthians 12:9–10, Judges 6:14).

29. Father, turn every mountain of shame into a mountain of praise (Isaiah 61:3).

30. Lord, draw me closer to You through the mountains I face, like Abraham on Mount Moriah (Philippians 3:10, Genesis 22:14).

7. Prayers of Thanksgiving and Declaration

Paul and Silas sang in the prison at midnight, and their thanksgiving became the key to freedom (Acts 16:25–26).

31. Thank You, Lord, for being my help and keeper (Psalm 121:1–2).

32. I declare that no mountain is greater than the God of heaven and earth (Jeremiah 32:27).

33. Lord, I rejoice because You always cause me to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14).

34. I proclaim that my mountains are temporary, but Your Word is eternal (Matthew 24:35).

35. Father, I thank You because every mountain before me is becoming a plain (Zechariah 4:7).

8. Prophetic Declarations for the Future

The future is secure in God’s hands. Even mountains yet unseen will bow before Him.

36. Mountains of lack will turn to divine supply, for the Lord is my Shepherd (Psalm 23:1).

37. Mountains of barrenness will give way to fruitfulness as Sarah conceived in old age (Exodus 23:26, Genesis 21:2).

38. Mountains of opposition will become testimonies like Mordecai’s story in Persia (Psalm 126:1–3, Esther 8:15).

39. My future is secure because if God is for me, who can be against me? (Romans 8:31).

40. I prophesy that today’s mountains will become tomorrow’s testimonies of victory (Revelation 12:11).

Beloved, mountains are not permanent fixtures. They may look unshakable, but in the presence of God, they melt, split, or bow. Some will move instantly, others gradually, and some will transform into platforms for your encounter with Him.

The key is to pray with faith—not as a ritual, but with conviction that the God who parted the Red Sea, who brought down Jericho, who raised Lazarus, and who rolled away the stone is still at work today.

Lift your eyes to the Mountain-Mover, not the mountain itself. Remember, it’s not the size of the mountain that matters—it’s the size of your God.
