Music is a powerful force. It can lift the soul closer to God or quietly draw it away. For a follower of Jesus Christ, the kind of music we listen to is not a small matter. It shapes our thoughts, influences our emotions, and even determines the atmosphere around us.
While some argue that there’s nothing wrong with “harmless” secular music, the Spirit-led believer knows that not all sounds are spiritually safe. Music Is Spiritual, Not Neutral
In Scripture, music is never treated as neutral entertainment. It is spiritual. When David played the harp, the evil spirit tormenting King Saul departed (1 Samuel 16:23). That shows music can carry the presence of God or the influence of darkness, depending on its source.
