Causes of persecution in the Church today

        Persecution against the Church is not a new phenomenon; it is a recurring reality throughout the history of God’s people. From the time of the prophets, through the ministry of Jesus, and into the New Testament Church, persecution has always accompanied those who live by God’s truth. Today, many Christians around the world still suffer various forms of persecution—ranging from social rejection to imprisonment and even martyrdom. Understanding the biblical reasons for this can help the Church stand firm with clarity, courage, and conviction. 1.
