The fact that God is not a man(Numbers 23:19) means that whatever He promises, He will do because He is faithful even to His word. Isaiah 55:11 I have seen so many true believers who are going through hard times enough to make them doubt the sovereignty of God and His promises but instead, they still hold onto God's promises with the belief that no matter how hard it is for them He is still faithful and true to His words. It takes faith to keep holding on to something even when it seems like it is not helping at the moment, but knowing that He who promises is faithful keeps the faith stronger till the set time of fulfilling His promises.
