The Holy Spirit is not merely a mystical presence but the very breath, wisdom, and power of God working in and through believers. Isaiah 11:2 offers one of the clearest biblical outlines of the Holy Spirit's attributes, describing seven distinct manifestations—often called the seven powers or spirits of the Holy Spirit. These powers were fully embodied in Jesus Christ and are given to believers to live godly and victorious lives. Isaiah 11:2 (KJV) " And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. " Let’s look at each power in detail: 1. The Spirit of the Lord This is the foundational presence of the Holy Spirit—the sovereign power of God that rests upon a person for divine assignment. It represents God’s anointing, approval, and presence. ...
The fact that God is not a man(Numbers 23:19) means that whatever He promises, He will do because He is faithful even to His word. Isaiah 55:11
I have seen so many true believers who are going through hard times enough to make them doubt the sovereignty of God and His promises but instead, they still hold onto God's promises with the belief that no matter how hard it is for them He is still faithful and true to His words.
It takes faith to keep holding on to something even when it seems like it is not helping at the moment, but knowing that He who promises is faithful keeps the faith stronger till the set time of fulfilling His promises.
There are a lot of God’s promises and also a lot of hindrances to the same promises. Click on the link below for more details: https://www.seedwordchristian.com/2023/07/hindrances-to-gods-promises.html?m=1
So many things can hinder a person from accessing or living up to God’s promises, but those who know their stand in Him and faithfully hold onto His promises shall manifest the wonders of His promises. So, to hold onto God's promises is to:
- Wait on Him
Isaiah 40:31; Habakkuk 2:1
The earlier you understand that God is not in a rush to fulfill His promises in your life, the better for you. Understand that He does not waste resources and for Him to invest in your life even when He has promised, He will be sure His investment in you will not be a waste. So, the waiting period for His promises is a time of checking, making, and preparing you for the greatness ahead.
Waiting on God's fulfillment of His promises can take up to days, months, or even years so long as God through the waiting period makes a worthy instrument of His glory through you. Thus, it is not easy during the waiting period but if it is God who put you on hold when others are moving means He has a plan different from yours, and it is for your good.
While waiting on His promises hold firmly onto those things He has promised to do, and when the right time comes He will surely come to pass.
- Consistently reminding Him of His promises through prayer
Isaiah 62:1
That a person is serious about receiving or getting what God promised him is through his consistency in the place of prayer, reminding God of His promises. Why will a person even keep calm or be comfortably living life when the very thing God is destined to do with his life has not come to pass?
Do not be like most Christians who relax and are comfortable in their misery just because God promised them help, and because of that they do nothing. It is wisdom to go on your knees to remind God of His promises in your life. Just because He promised should not stop you from praying rather it should encourage you to pray more until you receive practical evidence of His promises in every aspect of your life.
- Keep declaring and see yourself manifesting His promises
Psalms 19:14; Proverbs 18:21
There is power in the spoken word. So, keep declaring and seeing yourself manifesting His promises. Also, there should not be a limitation in your mind, picture yourself manifesting that which He has promised and call it forth and in due time it will come to pass.
To hold onto something means you are not even willing to let go but rather clasp to it to the end. Keep hold of His promises and never give up because your life depends on it to be useful to Him, yourself, and your generation.
