Understanding Salvation for Kids Salvation is God’s free gift of forgiveness and eternal life. It means being saved from sin and becoming a child of God. Children can understand and receive this gift just like adults. Jesus encouraged us to have faith like children! Matthew 19:14 (NIV) says, “ Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. ” This shows us that Jesus welcomes children into His Kingdom.
